April Gelly

April Gelly is an Argentine-born AEA actress and singer currently based in New York City. She earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from California State University and further honed her craft in Buenos Aires, training with top theatre and music professionals. She is a versatile actress with mezzo-soprano and a strong contemporary belt. She began her career performing in community and regional theatre across California before building a successful recording career in South America. Her film and television credits include Caídos del Mapa, Grachi, Dangerous Play, and Brooklyn Vice. In 2020, she returned to the stage, appearing in productions such as Sister Act, Rock of Ages, Nine, and others. In 2023, April toured internationally as Luisa Madrigal in Disney’s Encanto. After completing the tour, she relocated to New York to continue her training with The Barrow Group, T. Schreiber Studio, The Innovative Voice Studio, and coach Merri Sugarman.
