Yuen Yu Caroline Chan 陳琬瑜
Yuen Yu Caroline Chan (Caro) is a born-and-raised Hong Kong trilingual powerhouse redefining the boundaries of contemporary performance. Seamlessly blending her deep roots in Hong Kong with her dual Chinese and Nigerian heritage, Caro commands the stage and screen across English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Named a 2025 Performer of the Year Nominee by the International Association of Theatre Critics (Hong Kong) for her unforgettable role in Flowing Warblers (2024, 2025), Caro is a rapidly rising force in global arts. Her boundary-pushing artistic vision earned her the prestigious 2025 Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong New York Fellowship. In 2025, she also debuted her groundbreaking work-in-progress solo piece, "Oyìnbó", a radical performance dissecting her family history and local sociological upbringing by fusing Stand-Up Comedy, Character Work, Chinese Calligraphy, and Multi-Medium. The Academic Foundation: BFA (Honours) in Drama (Acting) from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (2023); BA in English Language and Literature. The Stage Professional: Critically acclaimed performances in The Doctor (2024), Labyss (2024), Songs of Innocence and Experience (2024), and Flowing Warblers (2024, 2025). On-Screen Presence: Featured in major films like Helios (2015) and Let’s have a cup of doodh patti chai (2026), alongside prominent television roles on Be An Acting Star (2024), Uncle Mum (2025), and Where is My Fifteen Minutes (2025). When identity is a kaleidoscope of cultures, how many voices does it take to tell the truth?
