Daniel Gibson

Daniel Gibson is an actor, singer, and dancer, currently working internationally, dedicated to creating theatre that is both emotionally rich and socially engaged. He most recently appeared in Shanghai as Nathan Leopold in Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story, bringing a grounded, psychologically nuanced approach to one of musical theatre’s most complex roles. Daniel is drawn to work that lives at the intersection of storytelling and activism. He believes that theatre is inherently political—not only a reflection of the world around us, but a tool to challenge it. His artistic practice is rooted in a desire to interrogate systems of power, explore the complexities of human behavior, and create space for conversations that extend beyond the stage. With a particular interest in bold, character-driven material, Daniel gravitates toward stories that examine identity, morality, and the tensions between intimacy and violence, control and vulnerability. At the same time, he is deeply committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and approaching work with an awareness of the historical and cultural contexts in which it exists. Whether performing in established works or developing new projects, he seeks to engage with material in a way that is responsible, responsive, and actively in dialogue with the communities it reaches. In addition to his performance work, Daniel is passionate about building theatre that directly engages with activism and public discourse. He is interested in reimagining existing works through a contemporary political lens, as well as developing projects that center community, protest, and collective action. His goal is to create work that not only resonates artistically, but also asks audiences to reflect, question, and participate in the world beyond the theatre. Originally from the United States, Daniel continues to work across both domestic and international stages, bringing curiosity, rigor, and a collaborative spirit to every process. He is driven by the belief that theatre, at its most powerful, can be a catalyst—for empathy, for dialogue, and for change.
