My name is Emmanuella Ekpenyong, professionally known as Nella Yong. I am a Nigerian actress and performer with a strong passion for storytelling, character immersion, and expressive performance. From a young age, I’ve been acting out self-created scenes at home, often recording myself as I performed stories I imagined — a habit that has shaped my confidence and creativity on camera. My acting experience began on stage with the role of Mrs. Cratchit in A Christmas Carol (2019), a school theatre production that taught me the importance of timing, voice control, and audience connection. More recently, I featured in the upcoming Nigerian folklore-inspired film Calypso (produced by Instinct Empire). I played a secondary school student in a short, two-person scene where I delivered a one-line role — a powerful moment that contributed to the eerie atmosphere of the story. Alongside acting, I have a strong background in dance, having performed with my school’s dance team from 2015 to 2023. My training includes: • Hip-Hop • Commercial Dance (like the style seen in Disney’s Descendants and Zombies) • African Dances I’ve learned under various professional dance instructors and participated in choreographed performances during school events. I also rap and express myself musically through spoken rhythm, adding another layer to my performance style. I speak fluent English and my local dialect, with a natural Nigerian–British accent blend. I’m quick at memorising lines, skilled in facial expression, and able to dive into characters quickly. My dedication and versatility allow me to bring sincerity, energy, and originality to every role I take on.
