Gregory Erbach

Gregory Erbach is a highly accomplished and multifaceted theatre professional whose career spans over forty years in acting, producing, technical direction, master electrical work, carpentry, film, television, and regional theatre leadership. He serves as the Co-Founder, Vice President, and Producing Director of Hudson Theatre Works, where he has helped shape the company’s artistic mission since 2010 and produced every Main Stage production. His producing credits include *A Steady Rain*—named one of New Jersey’s Top Ten Productions—alongside *Of Mice and Men*, *Macbeth*, *Uncle Vanya*, *The Caretaker*, *Bunnies* (World Premiere), *Machinal*, and the PlayWorks Festival. As an actor, Erbach has performed leading and character roles in regional and Off-Broadway venues. His performances include Joey in *A Steady Rain*, Cabot in *Desire Under the Elms*, and Terry Malloy in Renegade Theatre’s production of *On the Waterfront*. His early acting work includes roles at the Harold Clurman Theatre and Renegade Theatre, where he also served as Co-Artistic Director. Erbach's extensive technical and production career includes decades of leadership roles. Most notably, he served in the Electric Construction Dept for The Metropolitan Opera Association from 1997 to 2025. During that time he was the assistant Electrical Constuction boss beginning in 2010 and served as the Electrical Construction Boss starting in 2023 until his retirement in 2025. He is also a Master Electrician in both New York and New Jersey, ETCP certified, and President of Erbach Electrical Contracting LLC. His earlier work includes journeyman and foreman roles with GMS Electrical Contracting and Iovino Electrical Contracting. His technical direction and carpentry experience spans some of the most respected institutions in theatre, including The John Houseman Theatre, American Place Theatre, American Jewish Theatre, Weston Theater Company, Equity Library Theatre, Body Politic Theatre, and Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company—contributing to productions such as *The Caretaker*, *You Can't Take It with You*, *A Lesson from Aloes*, and *Lydie Breeze.* In television and film, his carpentry and technical work supported major productions at CBS Television—including *The Cosby Show*, *Guiding Light*, *Martha Stewart*, *CBS Sunday Morning*, *48 Hours*, *The Chris Rock Show*, and *The Dana Carvey Show*—along with technical direction for HBO Films on John Leguizamo’s *Mambo Mouth* and *Spic-O-Rama*. A member of IATSE Local 1, Actors’ Equity Association, and SAG-AFTRA, and holding ETCP certification, Erbach brings a rare combination of artistic insight, technical mastery, and leadership to every production. He remains a vital and driving force in regional theatre, contributing as a performer, producer, designer, and advocate for innovative and challenging theatrical work.
