Mubarak Haruna
Mubarak Haruna is one of the fastest rising actors in the Bay Area, building a reputation for his versatility, presence, and ability to embody complex characters with authenticity. Signed with Models Inc Talent Agency, Mubarak has become a recognizable face across the tech and startup world, appearing in high profile commercials for companies such as Apple, OpenAI, Google, and SanDisk. His work in these campaigns has positioned him as a trusted on camera presence in the Bay Area tech scene, where his performances capture both the spirit of innovation and the human stories behind technology. In just a few years, Mubarak has built a body of work that spans more than sixty projects across film, commercial, corporate, and fashion productions. Directors and creative teams often return to him because he brings the same qualities to every set: preparation, emotional truth, and a calm, focused energy that keeps the work grounded even when schedules are tight and stakes are high. Alongside his work for Apple, OpenAI, Google, and SanDisk, Mubarak has led or featured in campaigns for Luma AI, Five9, BMC, Browserbase, Juicebox, Urban Ed Academy, Social Proof Security, Carrington College, Amtrak San Joaquin, Mercor, and other innovation focused brands. He moves easily between tech founder, working professional, caring partner, or everyday hero, often within the same campaign. His performances help brands feel human, not just polished. His commercial presence extends beyond the tech world. Mubarak has appeared in campaigns for Twilio Signal, Bishop Ranch, Kilroy Realty Corporation, Kaiser Permanente, Plaid, Ripple, Frair Tux, Getty Images, and other lifestyle and commercial clients. These collaborations have given him experience working with different visual styles, scales of production, and storytelling tones, from cinematic brand films to fast moving social content. The deeper arc of his career began long before the cameras. As a child, Mubarak discovered acting through school plays and local performances, where he learned how powerful it felt to step into a character and carry a story. That early passion followed him to Saint Mary’s College of California, where a pivotal moment reshaped his path. There he met his role model Mahershala Ali. Seeing Ali’s journey from the same campus to global stages made a career in acting feel real and reachable. That encounter helped turn a dream into a commitment. After graduation, Mubarak chose to pursue acting with full focus. Since then, he has taken on layered roles in independent film. He played the lead in “Liam’s Journey,” a short film that leans on stillness, internal conflict, and emotional restraint, and has led projects such as “We Live,” “Born To Live,” and a “Boomerang” remake. He has also appeared in supporting roles in “Circle of Sinners,” “Planet,” “DEC 42,” “The Migos,” and “A Camel’s Desertion.” Directors value his ability to listen on camera, hold silence without losing intensity, and shift from vulnerability to strength while staying fully present in the scene. In parallel, Mubarak has built a strong presence in fashion and runway. He has walked in more than fifteen shows, including Oakland Fashion Style Week, Fashion Forward San Francisco, Oakland First Fridays runway presentations, Utah Pacific Fashion Show, the Shantell Herndon Fashion and Art Gala, Black Designer Fashion Show, and the Black Joy Parade. On the fashion side, he has modeled for Noir Model, Scorpion Fit, Frair Tux, Saint Maurice Clothing, Kaiser Permanente, Twilio Signal, Kilroy Realty, Bishop Ranch, and other clients. For Mubarak, the runway is another training ground for character work, where story is told through posture, movement, and eye line instead of dialogue. On set, Mubarak is known for being deeply prepared and easy to work with. His background as a former high level athlete and his ongoing work in product leadership have shaped his discipline, time management, and ability to collaborate with teams of all sizes. He comes in off book, open to direction, and comfortable with adjustment on the fly. His skill set includes character immersion, script analysis, improvisation, athletic movement, and work with teleprompters and camera choreography. He is fluent in English and French and performs in African, American, British, French, and Jamaican accents. Beyond his on camera and runway work, Mubarak is committed to impact and community. As a Product Manager at BRIDGEGOOD in Oakland, he helps lead programs at the intersection of design, technology, and social good, creating opportunities for first generation and underrepresented creatives to enter tech and design careers. His contributions to arts and culture in Oakland were recognized with the Outstanding Citizen Award from Oakland First Fridays. Mubarak Haruna is building a career that reflects both craft and purpose. For casting directors and filmmakers, he brings what is hardest to teach: presence, emotional honesty, and the reliability of a collaborator who treats every project, large or small, as an opportunity to tell the truth on screen.
