Rick Hearst

Born and raised in Queens, N.Y. Rick Hearst found his passion and love for acting and the arts at an early age. After relocating with his Mother and Stepfather to Texas, Hearst quickly found his niche and received an Acting Scholarship to The University of Texas at Austin in the B.F.A. Acting Program. Soon after Hearst relocated to New York City where he continued study at The Circle in The Square Theatre’s Conservatory Program. His extensive study gave him opportunity to explore many roles in the New York Theatre such as Tybalt in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Pavlo in “The Basic Training Of Pavlo Hummel,” Constantin in “The Sea Gull” among them. While theatre and stage have always been Hearst’s first love, it would be the Television and Film industry that would be where his career would take him for the next 30 plus years. Appearing in numerous T.V shows and films(Brain Damage, Carpool Guy, Warlock III, The Jenny McCarthy Show, Maggie Winters, Beverly Hills 90210, Charmed, Castle, and Vampire Diaries, etc.)Hearst is most notable for his roles in the Daytime Television industry where he holds the distinction of having appeared as a series regular on 5 different network soaps, garnering 3 Daytime Emmy Awards, and multiple nominations. Hearst credits his success by having been raised in a working class Italian American home that stressed strong work ethic above all else. With the motto, “You can outwork talent, when talent doesn’t work hard” Hearst continues to recur and can currently be seen as the deviously dark DA and complicated protagonist Ric Lansing on ABC’s “General Hospital” as well as developing several scripts through his production company Turn The Corner. Hearst has been married to his wife Donna for 35 years and has 2 sons Nicholas and Cameron who themselves are pursuing careers in the stage, film and television industries. Rick has coached actors in LA and Atlanta and currently resides on the east coast in New Jersey.
