Thomas Armitage
My passion for Performing Arts sprung from a very young age. Between 2018 and 2023 I attended the Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA). These sessions were weekly and enabled me to gain an insight into the Performing Arts industry. I had several opportunities to put these into practice i.e. performing as a lead character in the Shaftesbury Theatre in London. I took part in annual showcases in theatres across Yorkshire. My last role with this company was Khashoggi in We Will Rock You - at Barnsley Civic Theatre. Currently at Sixth Form I am studying A Level Drama and have taken part in school productions i.e Oliver, Cabaret and pantomime. Most recently me and my fellow A Level Drama students directed and produced a script for my Academy's Murder Mystery event. Included in this work, we were set the task of creating a theatrical narrative which explored our character's backstories - which we, ourselves, formed. My personal success was apparent in productions such as Oliver, as I was asked to repeat my performance as Fagin in the Academy's annual award ceremony in Sheffield City Hall and at our Academy Trust conference at Doncaster Dome.
